Gardening Tips

This months issue of Acres USA contained a great article on using molasses, SEA-90 and among other things, raw milk to fertilize your soil.

(Raw milk providers, you can now sell your milk as a fertilizer!!!)

Can raw milk make grass grow?  Can one application of three gallons of raw milk on an acre of land produce large amounts of grass.

The answer is yes.

The raw milk had a big impact on the pasture as witnessed by the color and the volume of the grass that was there was a big increase in production.  A study was done and the results were amazing, but more amazing was the porosity of the soil - that is, its ability to absorb water and air was found to be doubled.

By applying raw milk to the land, the native microbes and newly introduced microbes makes it more profitable to put milk on pastures than to sell to any bulk buyers.

Grasshoppers disappeared when the milk was sprayed on the grass.

The purpose of this story is to convince farmer and livestock producers to look into the possibilty of using raw milk, compost tea, earthworm castings tea, liquid fish or sea minerals or some combination thereof to boost production at an affordable price.

The BRIX of the grass at both the farmers involved in this study/article went from a 1 or 2 to 22.
